Smart Watchlist Review

Most watchlists are graveyards. You save 40 movies and never watch them. QP's Smart Watchlist tries to fix the actual problem — deciding which one to watch tonight.

9.0
out of 10 · Underrated

Verdict

The most quietly useful feature in QP. Tonight's Pick alone is worth the install — the rest (leaving-soon badges, Ready to Watch carousel, shelf-rot detection) is gravy.

What's great

  • Tonight's Pick picks one — not 40
  • Ready to Watch surfaces what's streaming on your services right now
  • Leaving-soon badges with the departing provider name
  • Shelf-rot detection — old items quietly fade
  • Watchlist saves sharpen your taste profile across the whole app
  • One-tap save from Discover, Mood, What's Hot, search

What's still rough

  • No multi-list / folder support yet (it's flat by design)
  • Leaving-soon is heuristic — exact departure dates would be better
  • No iPad-class UI yet (iPhone-only as of this review)

How Tonight's Pick works

When you open Watchlist, QP scores every saved title against your current mood signals, your local time and likely runtime budget, and the streaming services you actually have. The top score becomes Tonight's Pick — with a one-line reason explaining why.

Score: 9.0 / 10

The feature that turns "I'll save this for later" into "I'll watch this tonight."
